Schizophrenia Spectrum and Other Psychotic Disorders

Please find below a list of disorders that are currently proposed for the diagnostic category, Schizophrenia Spectrum and Other Psychotic Disorders. This category contains diagnoses that were listed in DSM-IV under the chapters of Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders. The Psychotic Disorders Work Group has been responsible for addressing these disorders. Among the work group’s proposals is the recommendation for an Attenuated Psychosis Syndrome. This proposal is under examination as part of the DSM-5 Field Trials, and the work group hopes to gather significant feedback from the public about this recommendation. Also included here are proposals that address Catatonia, both as a distinct disorder (Catatonic Disorder Associated With a Known General Medical Condition) as well as a Catatonia Specifier, which could be used across a wide range of disorders. We appreciate your review and comment on these disorders.
