Please find below a list of disorders that are currently proposed for the diagnostic category, Anxiety Disorders. This category contains diagnoses that were listed in DSM-IV under the chapter of Anxiety Disorders. The Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum, Posttraumatic, and Dissociative Disorders Work Group has been responsible for addressing these revisions. Among the revisions listed below is the proposal to make Agoraphobia a separate, codable diagnosis rather than occurring solely within the context of Panic Disorder (in DSM-IV, Panic Disorder With Agoraphobia or Agoraphobia Without History of Panic Disorder). Furthermore, Panic Attack is not a codable disorder, but the work group has proposed criteria for the assessment of Panic Attacks. Members of this work group also were charged with reviewing Stereotypic Movement Disorder, Tourette’s Disorder, Chronic Motor or Vocal Tic Disorder, Provisional Tic Disorder, and Unspecified Tic Disorder; these are all now located under the chapter of Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Many of the disorders that were previously listed in the Anxiety Disorders chapter in DSM-IV have been distributed throughout this chapter as well as separate chapters on Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders and Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders. For a comprehensive review of all anxiety and related disorders, please be sure to visit those chapters as well. We appreciate your review and comment on these disorders.
