There are 13 DSM-5 Work Groups, based largely on the classification of disorders presented in DSM-IV. For more information about each work group's membership and disorders of study, please click on the links below.
On each work group's page, you will find a listing of disorders under that work group’s purview. However, for many of the disorders, numerous work groups cross-collaborated in drafting the proposed criteria. Also, be please aware that placement of a disorder within a diagnostic category was not entirely dependent on which work group was responsible for drafting those criteria. For example, the Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive, Posttraumatic, and Dissociative Disorders Work Group was largely responsible for drafting the criteria for Tics and Tic-Related Disorders; however, these disorders are proposed for placement under the Neurodevelopmental Disorders category. For a thorough listing of each diagnostic category and the diagnoses included there within, please visit the Proposed Revisions section.
